Subject: Announcement of 2013 International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP).

Sir/Madam,

    United states-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) has announced the 2013 International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) for full time school teachers (classes 6 to 12) teaching English, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science at schools in the states of  Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Keral and Tamil Nadu and the Union Territories of Pondicherry, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the South. Please note that this competition is open only to teachers from the states mentioned above and not the rest of India. This U.S. Govt. sponsored program provides international teachers with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge about the United States.

    The U.S. based academic program will include semesters-long non-degree, non credit academic program at a U.S. University including seminars on new teaching methodologies, curriculum development, lesson planning and teaching strategies. Selected Indian teachers will receive round-trip transportation, room and board and applicable allowances and will travel on J 1 visas.
   
    Applications deadline for Indian Candidates is 1st April 2013.
   
    Details regarding the Program and the application form are available at USIEF website www.usieforg.in.

    You are requested to bring it to the notice of interested teachers teaching in Kendriya Vidyalayas under your jurisdiction. The application duly completed in all respect must reach this office on or before 15.03.2013 for onward submission to USIEF. No proposals will be entertained if received directly from the teacher/Principal to this office or USIEF.
    This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
