OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Grant of Interim Relief to the Central Government employees.
The demand of the Staff Side in the National Council (JCM) for ad-hoc increase in pay of Group ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ employees has been under consideration of the Government for some time. The President has now been pleased to sanction Interim Relief of Rs.100/- p.m. to all Central Government employees w.e.f. 16.9.1993.
2. The amount of Interim Relief will be sui generis vis. It will neither be termed as ‘Pay’ nor ‘Allowance’ nor ‘Wage’. Accordingly, this amount will not count for any service benefit i.e. computation of House Rent Allowance, Compensatory Allowances, Overtime Allowance, Cash Compensation, Encashment of Leave, Pay Fixation, Pension or Gratuitu, etc. etc.
3. The provisions of this Office Memorandum will also apply to the employees of Union Territories.
4. In so far as the officers serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department are concerned, these orders issue after consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
