Public holiday on bye-election to Daspur & Bankura AC

In connection with bye-election to 230-Daspur Assembly Constituency and 252-Bankura Assembly Constituency to be held on Tuesday, the 12th June, 2012 the Finance Department has declared the polling day as public holiday under NI Act for the offices located within the extent of the aforementioned Assembly Constituencies. The day of dispatch i.e. the day before the poll day (11.06.2012) and the poll day i.e. 12.06.2012 may be declared as local holidays for the educational institutions located within the Assembly Constituencies.
The State Government employees who are ordinarily residents and bonafide electors of the respective constituencies but serve in an office where the date of poll will not be declared as holiday, may be given the opportunity to exercise their franchise on that day if applied for by sanctioning late arrival in office or early departure or a short absence.
Above mentioned State Government employees whose offices are located at such a distance that it will not be possible for them to exercise their franchise without absenting, may be allowed special casual leave on that day, if applied for.
In the event of re-poll they may be given opportunity to exercise their franchise on that day in the manner detailed above.
