Dear sir,
I draw your attention to the GOI .Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi letter No. S.12016/01/2012-NACO(NBTC) dated 12 Feb 2014 addressed to all the State Blood Transfusion Committees in the country. The subject matter is Guidelines for recovery of processing charges for blood and blood components. The charges are not par with the rates listed by the CGHS w.e.f. 17 Nov 2014. This leads to a lot of confusion for billing. You are requested to read all the pages of the above quoted letter to come to the final amount to be charged. The guidelines clearly states the basic charges of Rs. 1050/- per unit for Government Blood Bank and Rs. 1450/- per unit for Non Government Blood Bank. Over and above that Page 2-3 states charges for specialized requirements/tests/procedures depending upon the technology being used by blood banks. Every blood bank (in Maharashtra) has submitted their charges which are displayed for the convenience of the customers.
Here I may like to draw your attention to the S.No. 1431 Single Donor Platelet (SDP-Apheresis). The CGHS rate is Rs. 150/173. The actual charges are Rs.11,000/- You are requested to go into the matter as issue guidelines as per the above quoted policy to avoid confusion.
