A person claiming LTC is not eligible unless he actually travels; if he fails to travel the amount is deducted from his pay and he may be liable for disciplinary action. He does not have the option of keeping the money and paying income tax.

Ministry of Railways approves 196 pairs of “Festival Special” services
Ministry of Railways has approved 196 pairs (392 trains) of “Festival Special” services over Indian Railways to be operated from 20th October 2020 and 30th November 2020. The fare for these Festival Special services shall be that applicable for special trains.
DoPT relaxes LTC facility up to 25th Sept 2022 for the government employees to travel by Air
DoPT (Department of Personnel & Training) has issued orders relaxing the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) facility for the government employees to travel by Air to visit Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, North Eastern Region and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh said that this relaxation has been extended up to 25th September 2022.
Minimum Qualifying Service Scrapped for Enhanced Family Pension w.e.f. 01 October 2019
Ordinary Family Pension at enhanced rate is payable for 10 years without any upper age limit from the date following the date of death of the personnel in service. Where service personnel dies after release/retirement/discharge/invalidment with a pension, Ordinary Family Pension at enhanced rate is granted for a period of 7 years from the date of death or up to attaining the age of 67 years, whichever is earlier.
Fake News: DA increase applicable to all CG employees from 1 Jan 2020
Rumours are being spread on many social media forums that the government has withdrawn the decision to stop the increase in DA. This request letter was written in May 2020. No such decision has been taken by the central government.
