Worship method of Phalguna Amavasya
- On the day of Falgun Amavasya, it is considered the most auspicious to offer sacrifices to ancestors. This liberates the ancestors.
- One must take a bath in a holy river or lake on this day. After this one should wear unstitched clothes.
- After this, if possible, get it done by a priest or you can do it yourself.
- After this, where is the place of your ancestors or where their picture is attached. Clean the area under it thoroughly.
- After this light a lamp of native ghee at that place. After this, apply white sandalwood tilak on the picture of your ancestor and offer white colored flowers to him.
- After this, pray to him that oh father god, my ancestors, tonight, whatever prayer I pray, whatever worship I do, may it be successful. Give me your blessings. May all my work be successful.
- After this, keep that white cloth under the place of worship of ancestors or the picture of your ancestors. After this, offer them Kheer and Poori.
- After doing this, bow down to them with folded hands and ask them for Shram for any mistake made in worship.
- After this, feed a Brahmin and take his blessings by touching his feet by giving him clothes and dakshina.
- In the end, offer Kheer to the ancestors and feed the poori to a cow and take some of it as prasad with the family.
