For the all-round development and welfare of the workers of its state, the Punjab government starts many welfare schemes for the laborers. Thus the state government has started “Punjab Shramik Scholarship Yojana (Labour Stipend Scheme)”. Under the Labor Scholarship Scheme (Punjab Labor Children Scholarship), the beneficiary student will be given a scholarship (stipend) of Rs 3 thousand to Rs 7 thousand per year for education from the Department of Labor. The benefit of this scheme can be taken by the student whose mother or father has a labor card.
Eligibility criteria
- Applicant must be from labor family.
- Applicant should have labor card of beneficiary’s family.
- The benefit of Punjab Shramik Scholarship Scheme will be given to the children of local laborers of Punjab.
- The beneficiary should belong to a poor family.
