OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject : Fixation of pay of ex-clerks of the Military Accounts Department on subsequent appointment on a temporary basis to clerical posts in civil offices of the Government of India.
A question has been raised as to whether the expression or they offered themselves for retrenchment by resignation occurring in para. 1 of this Ministry’s office Memorandum No.F.6(38) Ext.III/50 dated the 18th January, 1951, on the subject indicated above, should cover cases of those ex-clerks of the Defence Accounts Department who resigned their posts of their own accord due to private reasons. It has been decided in consultation with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Comptroller and Auditor General that the benefit of the office Memorandum mentioned above should be restricted to those ex-clerks of the Defence Accounts Department who were either retrenched or who resigned their posts specifically to assist retrenchment. Past cases, however, need not be reopened.
2. The orders in this office Memorandum in their application to the personnel of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department issue in consultation with the Comptroller & Auditor General.
